Since 2005, the Law institute has published a yearly peer-reviewed research book series. The goal of the series is to publish longer scholarly thesis on legal subjects that are less suited to be published in traditional Icelandic legal journals. Publication of the series is primarily intended to present material with scholarly and practical value for the legal profession. For further information see Publication.
Other activities involve legal service projects such as reports and opinions. The Law Institute offers various continuing education courses and organizes and hosts lectures and conferences. The Law Institute has been in charge of writing and publishing all public material on behalf of the Parliament and the Ministry of Interior on the three Referenda held in Iceland in the years 2010-2012, the only Referenda in the country since it became a democracy.
